New Sudan Honey Producers Association

New Sudan Honey Producers Association (NSHPA) are a beekeeping association in Yei/Maridi, South Sudan. NSHPA cover Tore Payam in Yei county and Landiili, Maridi, Ibba, Baroolo, Koze and Mudbai Payams in Maridi.

NSHPA have over 1,000 honey producers registered as members. NSHPA covers some of the best beekeeping areas in south Sudan. NSHPA have established honey collection centers in their areas of operations to facilitate bulking of honey for marketing.

Following technical inputs from Apiconsult and Catholic Relief Services (CRS Sudan) with funding from USAID the NSHPA members have collected 15 tonnes of quality honey in the comb by June 2000.

This is their first honey harvesting season as a group. Further harvests are expected in July and September.
